Insurance Coverage

Understanding coverage for Canadian Certified Counsellors (CCC)

Important Information

Insurance coverage for counselling services can vary significantly depending on your specific benefits plan. Not all employers offer the same level of coverage, and not all plans include Canadian Certified Counsellors (CCC).

It is your responsibility to confirm with your insurance provider whether services with a CCC are covered under your plan.

Many people feel unsure about how insurance works for counselling. This page will walk you through it step by step so it feels simpler and more manageable.

Check your coverage

Reach out to your insurance provider and ask what mental health services are included in your plan.

Ask the right questions

  • Do I have counselling coverage?
  • Is a Canadian Certified Cousellor (CCC) covered under my plan?
  • What is my yearly limit?
  • Do I need a doctor's referral?

Attend your session

You’ll pay at the time of your appointment and receive a receipt afterward.

Submit your receipt

Send your receipt to your insurance provider for reimbursement based on your plan.

I do not direct bill at this time, but most clients are still able to successfully submit claims through their insurance provider. If you’re unsure, we can always talk through it together.
